Patti was born, raised, and married (even became a mother) in Madison, Wisconsin. If you listen hard enough, you’ll be able to hear that good old Wisconsin accent when she is yakking on the radio. Radio seems to be in the Gehred family blood. Both of her daughters have been DJs at college radio stations, so she and her husband decided to follow their lead when asked to be the Monday hosts of “Jazz at Eleven,” here at WDPS-FM. Besides learning more about jazz, Patti spends her time walking, biking, or going to movies at the Neon. Even though being on the radio is new to Patti, she keeps these words from Ella Fitzgerald in mind, "Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong."
